Sometimes staying home is in the cards, so make your favorite summer red sangria, on your own time! Montauk’s Navy Beach presents the Torpedo – a truly satisfying sangria, and is surprisingly easy to make!
- 1 bottle of a dry light red wine
- 10 ounces Gin
- 3 Red Apples
- 3 Fresh Orange
- 5 Star Anise
- Soda or Sprite
Cut apples and oranges in small pieces and marinate with the star anise and 10 ounces of Gin for 3 hours or more. Add Red Wine (full bottle) refrigerate, let it rest for half hour or more inside the fridge.
When ready to drink, serve over ice with a splash of soda or Sprite. Make sure you get some of the fruit in each portion.
For this cocktail, a Chianti or Syrah is suggested. Hendricks is the prefered gin for Torpedo.
