Labor Day does not mean the end of summer– celebrate Tumbleweed Tuesday with a fresh and fruity cocktail that tastes like eternal summer! Gimlets are refreshing with their kick of lime, but the addition of basil and raspberry take this gimlet to the next level. Recipe from Jean-Georges Vongerichten, world renowned chef of the local restaurant Topping Rose House. This cocktail is not currently on their cocktail list, so learn how to make it at home, and treat yourself to a relaxing Tumbleweed Tuesday!
Raspberry Basil Gimlet Recipe
What you’ll need:
2 oz Vodka
1 oz fresh Lime Juice
1 oz Simple Syrup
8 whole fresh Raspberries
3 fresh Basil Leaves
2 whole fresh raspberries, for garnish
How to make it:
In a Mixing Glass, Muddle raspberries with basil leaves with 1 oz simple syrup. Add Vodka, Lime Juice and ice. Shake and strain twice into a martini glass, to ensure no seeds or leaves get through. Optional: Garnish with 2 raspberries on a cocktail pick.
